  • SeaWorld Orlando’s limited time Inside Look event allows guests to go behind the scenes, including areas never before seen by the public. The areas you can visit include: the fish house, the SeaWorld Rescue Center, the Manta aquarium, the sea lion and otter primary housing, the animal ambassador facility, and the beluga and seal primary housing. If you visit four of the locations, you can receive an Expert Explorer pin!
  • Our first stop was the fish house. We got to see the types of fish that are fed to the animals, as well as the ten degree freezer where some of the food is kept. Brrrr!
  • Our second stop on the Inside Look tour at SeaWorld Orlando was the SeaWorld Rescue Center. We got to see an injured manatee firsthand who was struck by a boat and was rehabilitating in the SeaWorld Rescue Center. There were also some sea turtles who were getting better after experiencing cold stress in the Cape Cod area.
  • Our third stop took us to the Manta aquarium that is located in the queue area of the rollercoaster. We got to stand underneath the tracks and see the Manta train barn where they work on the rollercoaster trains. This was probably my favorite stop on the Inside Look tour at SeaWorld Orlando. Being underneath Manta was neat and the aquarium was beautiful from where we stood. I’ve never been so close to hammerhead sharks that weren’t behind glass! We also got to hear a little bit about the water treatment that’s performed in the Manta aquarium area.
  • As we waited to go into our final stop on the Inside Look tour, we got a glimpse of Infinity Falls rushing by. Too cold for me to ride it, though! In the animal ambassador barn, we got to meet Ricky the possum. The woman holding him explained that he is named after the Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen, who is missing an arm, as is Ricky the possum. She said that he is their rockstar.
  • There are also guest speakers as part of the Inside Look event at SeaWorld Orlando. Chris Fischer, founder of OCEARCH, spoke about his efforts to conserve the ocean and learn about the mating patterns of sharks. We successfully visited four stops during the Inside Look event, so we went to the SeaWorld Rescue Store to retrieve our Expert Explorer pin!
